Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how PRAX EMR ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our application and website. PRAX EMR is designed to operate completely offline. We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on our servers or any third‑party cloud.
Scope
This policy applies to the PRAX EMR desktop application and the informational website located at praxemr.com. The app runs locally on your device and does not require an internet connection for normal operation.
Key Principles
- No Cloud Storage: All data you enter (including patient records, clinic details, settings, and prescriptions) is stored locally on your device under your control.
- No Account or Remote Login: The app does not create or require an online account. Basic profile information is filled when you first log in to the local app instance and remains on your machine.
- No Telemetry or Analytics: We do not collect usage analytics, device identifiers, crash reports, or diagnostic data.
- No Third‑Party Tracking: We do not use cookies, trackers, or third‑party SDKs in the app. The public website may use strictly necessary cookies (e.g., for basic functionality), but we do not use them to profile or track you.
Data Processed Locally (Offline)
Depending on how you use the app, you may store the following information locally on your device:
- Patient Information (e.g., name, age, phone, address, visit history, prescriptions)
- Clinic & Practitioner Profile (e.g., clinic name, address, contact info, speciality, template styling)
- Local Settings (e.g., language, theme, preferences)
This information never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it, back it up, or share it using your own tools and services.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Retention: Data persists locally until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Deletion: You can delete records within the app. If you uninstall the app or remove its data directory, local data is removed from your device. We cannot recover deleted data, because we never receive a copy.
Security
We design PRAX EMR to minimize data exposure by keeping information offline. You are responsible for securing the device(s) on which PRAX EMR is installed (e.g., operating system user accounts, disk encryption, access controls, and backups). We recommend enabling full‑ disk encryption and maintaining regular offline backups under your control.
Third‑Party Services
The PRAX EMR app does not depend on any external service to function and does not send your data to third parties. If you choose to export or sync data using your own storage or services, those activities are governed by the respective third‑party terms and privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
PRAX EMR is intended for use by licensed professionals and clinic staff and is not directed to children. Any patient data you enter is managed by you and stored locally.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect or control your data, requests such as access or deletion should be performed directly within your local app environment. We cannot act on such requests centrally, as we do not possess your data.
International Data Transfers
Not applicable. The app does not transmit your data to our servers or other countries.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the release notes.
